Unemployment is biggest problem in Pakistan

Unemployment is the biggest problem in Pakistan
By Sheeza Seemab

All developing countries are facing this problem called “Unemployment”, Pakistan is one of them. There is a strange situation in Pakistan that as the proportion of education is increasing and jobs are becoming rare and unemployment increasing continuously. Years ago it's heard that only illiterate people are unemployed but it’s a bitter reality that in an instant era mostly educated people are jobless.

• In Pakistan unemployment rate is 5.90%

Unemployment leads to poverty. Poverty can felt only because it can’t be described. Due to unemployment, the standard of people is very low.

In Pakistan, according to survey 2018 24.3% people are living below the poverty line and about 60% population is living in worst condition even they don’t have the facility of clean drinking water and remaining are facing sanitation problems.

Universities are producing many students but the organizations can’t create as many vacancies as pass out students. Let’s talk about the industrial sector, due to the shortage of gas & electricity they can’t hire more staff, so the industrial sector is not enough to offer job according to the number of people.

The other main reason for unemployment is favoritism if someone is eligible but he/she don’t have any reference he can’t get a job. Only those candidates get hired who has access to upper-level management and other remains jobless. Favorite should be eliminated

Another reason which leads to unemployment is low academic standards. In Pakistan educational institutes focus on bookish material just to get good grades. Educational institutes are not producing such type of people who can start their own business. Our institutes are not producing businessman. After completing of degree everyone is in the race to become employee, not employer so they prefer to become an employee instead of the employer.

Unemployment leads many other social problems, moral of people becoming low as they feel that instead of supporting their families they are the burden on them and impose on society, most of them are commuting suicide because the feeling of uselessness discourage them

Due to corruption there is instability in investment foreigners withdraw investment after 2017, the scenario of corruption if political stable then there are more chances of investment and in this result unemployment rate will decrease.

The education system should be changed, vocational education should be emphasized, in this regard previous government took many steps, they established many vocational institutes to overcome the problem of unemployment.

In 2017 with the collaboration of government and PTIB, E-ROOZGAR  started by these program students trained in 3 Domains,
v  Technical
v  Non-technical
v  Graphic Designing
All pass out students is working as a freelancer and earn 70+ millions.

Recently the government introduced a business plan for women to establish "Day Care Centers” anyone can avail this opportunity if she has availability of place, remaining all expenses will be neared by the government of Pakistan.

If the government takes any step for development, people should help them to execute the plan. Unemployment problem will be overcome by the collaboration of government and public.
